Dear What Hi-Fi Team,

I have the following question.

I can only find reviews for separate tuners and amplifiers.

Why don't WHF test 2 channel stereo receivers?

kind regards, DaliNova

Harman Kardon do a couple of stereo receivers, one being the HK3490, can't recall the name of the other one. There may be more, but not sure of their current product line without checking further. Not sure re: other manufacturers. Worth checking out though - HK have a fine pedigree in the industry.

See told you I would be wrong!!

From what I gathered at my time at WHF towers, a lot depends IF the manufacturer actually supplies a test piece, if not, but there is massive interest then WHF may purchase one to test.

True Blue:I may be wrong (usually am), but I dont think these exist.

I thought the following brands and types are 2ch. stereo receivers

Marantz SR5023, CA TOPAZ SR10, Denon DRA-700AE, NAD C-725BEE

HK: 3390, 3490

Yamaha: Rx-397, Rx-497, Rx-797

Denon DRA500 , DRA700

All receivers.

Ps-Just today I took a look at an Rx-397 and compared to my Ax-397.The Ax-397 has 2 simetrical parts inside, while the Rx-397 has only one and is a lot less deep than the Ax-397.

The HK 3390 has preout.just thinking of also getting it and use it has a tuner.also has 2 sub outs.very nice spec.
