Question about USA spec Blu Ray

My Father in Law is due here from the States in a week or so and I've noticed that Amazon.com has the Panny DMP-BD35 on sale for $224 or £150 approximately with free delivery to a USA address........you know what I'm going to ask next.......will it work here with just a mains plug adaptor?

It'll be a Region A player, meaning it won't play a lot of UK Blu-Ray (Region B) discs...

I don't think that'll be a huge problem being Region A, just wanted to check that it would actually work with an AC adaptor?

OOOhhhhh! Just noticed that the Panny BD55 is on the same site for $321 or about £200????

Yes it will work. You will need the adaptor though for upconversion from 110v to 220v. I imported the Panasonic BD30 and works fine. Also Paramount, WB and Universals movies are region free so you only need to worry about Sony, Disney and Fox/MGM. There are plenty of sites advising on region coding.
