Just embarking on my first home cinema setup and keen to know how these speaker packages compare: Quad Lite vs Tannoy Mercury F1 vs Kef 3005se.

Amp likely to be Onkyo 606.

Quads seem great value at £500, but happy to pay more for the Tannoy or Kefs if its worth it!

I'd take the Quads - though I don't fancy that rosewood finish if it's Superfi you're talking about - between the other two I'd take the Tannoys, or even the Diamond 9.0 or 9.1 cinema packs over the KEFs I think.

My opinion get a set of Quad L-ite (£495) the only problem with this system is the Quad's are getting hard to find in any colour but Rosewood. I have the Quad's in Silver and am very very happy with them. I looked at KEF 3005, KEF 5005.2, Monitor Audio Radius, but got the Quad's as they were as good as the last 2 for AV and better for music, I really did not like the 3005 there just not as good as the other 3, and the Quad's at £495 are just silly, The link below seem to have Quads in Rosewood or Silver try for £465 in Rosewood as they were last week.
