Hello everyone,

I need a home cinema systems for my bedroom size 12' x 12'. Earlier I was working on a budget of GBP 500, and was thinking about a homecinema in a box, but as per advice on this forum on a previous post I have decided to go for separates and to spend 800 quid in total.

Amp vise I am planning to go for the Sony STR DH 810, and speakers wise Q Acoustics QAV 5.1 or 3.1 as the room is not huge.

What other options do I have? I can look at Bose speakers as well.

Thanks in advance

Don't bother with 3.1 because 5.1 sounds much better even in a small room. I use the £300 Q Acoustics 1010i 5.1 speaker package which sounds fantastic in my 11' x 13' bedroom.

If you really must have tiny 'style' speakers then the Q Acoustics QAV 5.1 would be a very good choice. The Jamo A102HCS5 and the Boston Acoustics Soundware XS have also had good reviews too. Just don't expect any of them to sound as good as proper sized larger speakers like the 1010i's.

Find yourself a local hifi shop that will let you listen to them then you can choose whichever sounds the best to your ears.

I have the Q-AV 5.1 setup in my quite large lounge, and it sounds fantastic. A lot of people don't really notice the speakers, but when I stick a Blu-ray on to show off, the Dark Knight normally, they are mightly impressed.

For such compact speakers, and smallish sub, the sound quality is top-notch. Highly recommended.
