Hi all,
There has been a lot of discussion comparing the PS3 with dedicated Blu Ray players (eg. Sony BDP-SP370) when used with Blu Ray disks but can anybody comment on how they compare when playing back AVI or HD MKV/MPG files from an external USB drive? Until recently, I was using my phat PS3 to play such files (with MKVs converted for the PS3 using MKV2VOB) but I have now invested in a WDTV Live as I got fed up with having to use MKV2VOB all the time. Having now used them both, I don't think I can see any difference in PQ and neither do I think that one sounds any better that the other. Any views please.
As there have not been any replies, perhaps I didn't make my previous post clear enough - I am interested in how a dedicated BDP, for example the Sony BDP-S370, performs with AVI and MKV files when compared to a PS3.
There must be somebody out there who has compared them.
