Problem with sound when playing DVDs

I am having issues with sound when watching DVDs.

I have Pioneer KRP-500A, Pioneer VSX-AX5i-S, Pioneer DV-636D

The sound is fine when watching normal tv, SKY etc. When I watch DVDs, there is surround sounds coming through, but no central speaker sound.

Please help..its very frustrating having all this equipment but not being able to fully use it 😱(
