Powertraveller with various iPods

Cannot rate Powertraveller accessories enough - but here is an interesting one. I've got the Apple dock connector plug which, when attached to the UBS cable and a USB charger will charge an ancient 20gb classic, a first generation nano, and an iPhone, but will NOT charge a 120gb classic. Can anyone think why?

I think (an I am not sure) if it is the latest Classic then they changed where the charging pin was.....
