Can anyone help?

My current tv is a Hitachi PD7500 which I'm looking to replace with 1080p-plasma is preferred as I am a footie fan and watch films regularly.I have a budget of £1000 and have eyed the Panasonic TX-P50G10B and at the other end of the scale the LG 50 PS3000 even with its flaws given the £699 price tag.I will consider LCD but ideally do not want a screen under 46".

I have Virgin TV (not HD),Panasonic BD-35 Blu-Ray.Sound is not of great importance as I have seperates.

Thanks in anticipation,

Craig James,Nottingham.

its gotta be the 50g10 , if you can get one for a grand , what a bargain ... if i can get my hands on £1k ill be heading up to northern ireland in a transit van , picking up my freesat equipped g10 and heading back down south , and i wont be checking out any lgs on the way ...

Thanks;

I got JL to price match Richer £1099 but can get 8.5% off that leaving the delivered price at £1003 including 5yr warranty.Their shop price is £1349 so is a great saving.

Best wishes,

Craig.

Go to OFFER OF THE DAY discount site and you'll find the TX 50 G10 at Dixons online for £949.99 with free delivery

Thanks-the Dixons price does not include 5yr warranty and I believe it's £150-£200.

Best wishes,

Craig.

Look at the new Sammy plasma's aswell, don't think I will be buying a Panasonic which is a sad truth.....

I used to have a Panasonic and went with a Samsung when upgrading as they do make some truely great Plasmas which offer both VFM and great PQ and IMHO definatly look better to look at than the recent offerings from Panasonic.

2 Models well worth considering are the PS-50B650 and the super sexy looking PS-50B850 but both are slightly over the £1000 budget.

I have found the PS-50B650 for £998.99 with 5yr instore warranty!!! Bargain

So gutted I didn't wait

Not that impressed with the HD quality on my TV.

It's good, but its not slapping me in the face with quality!!!

Bought this TV on the review from HDTV and cnet... Tryed all things, expensive cables, cheap cables, tweaking the settings etc

I even went into the Service Menu last night, but thought better of it.

SD is good, just HD and Bluray is pulling back a bit......not what i was expecting
