Hi I will shortly be buying a new TV and would welcome some advice. I'm planning on buying a 42" TV and am torn between a plasma and an LED. The room the TV will be in is quite bright during the day and so this has tended to lean me towards LED. However, I also am a bit of a fan of horror so tend to watch a lot of films and TV which have a lot of black in them which I understand can be better delivered via Plasma. Just to round off, I'm also a big football so motion processing is important.

I'm not bothered overly by 3d though I wouldn't rule out a TV which features this if it has a better general spec than 2d. I shall be partnering with a new Blu Ray player and a new soundbar (not sure which yet) and Sky HD Any advice gratefully received on what I would be best served with.

Models on my radar at present are Plasma: PANASONIC VIERA TXP42GT30 and LED: LG 42LW550T but I'd welcome any advice on models or combinations of models/bluray players/soundbars

cheers Dave

Looks like it has to be the plasma then.

Further down your post are only two tv's you are thinking of getting & both of them are 3D tv's, presently available at around the 1K mark or a bit less. I only mention this as you have no budget stated.

In the death it all depends on your budget, so a bit difficult to answer your question.

The Panasonic Plasma that you list, paired with a Panasonic bluray player like the DMP-BDT310 would work well together, would save on remote clutter, it's not the be all & end all though. Yamaha soundbars are rated highly, the YSP-2200 ( cheapest price i could find clicky ) is 3D compatible, has good reviews, other forum members use them & give good reports back too.

Make sure to demo all ya kit first, before finally splashing out on whatever your budget allows, to be positive you like what you see & hear.

Hope that is some assistance.

Regards .. Paul
