It's difficult to say which is best as everyones tastes vary. Some prefer plasma's and others prefer lcd. The Pioneer has the best sd (standard tv,dvd etc..) picture quality where as the full hd tv's you have mentioned will be better with HD content like bluerays.
All of the tv's you have mentioned are very good and the only way to tell which you prefer is to demo them. Although if you want the Pioneer I wouldn't hang around as they are in very short supply.
I have the 42" Pany PZ85 and am very pleased with it, SD content looks very good and HD content takes your breath away.
Waiting for the new Pioneer lcd's is hard to say, as no one has seen a proper retail version yet. The way I see it is that there is always somthing better around the corner, but if you waited then you would never end up buying anything.
I don't think you would be dissapointed with either of your choices. But a demo is the only way to tell which is best for you. Make sure to look at sd content as well,as most shops usually display HD content only.
Good luck
EDIT: also 1 thing to look out for when demoing is to make sure they have been properly set up. The factory settings on most tv's are miles off and can make a huge difference to the picture quality once properly tweaked.
