Got the chance of the above, ex display (only been on display for 3 to 4 weeks according to salesman.)

If it had been the 50in and at an equally low price would have jumped at the chance but 60in is probably right on the limit for my viewing area, sitting about 3m away.

1st problem - getting my better half to understand that paying £2600 for a TV is a bargain.

2nd problem - convincing her it's not too big for the lounge.

3rd problem - convincing myself I should go for it rather than wait for the new Panny plasmas or picking up a discounted top of the range 2009 model.

4th problem - checking whether it has only had a few weeks use on display.

What do you guys and gals think?

Just re-read WHF review suggesting sitting at least 2.7m away.

3Mtrs is fit for a 37 to 46 inch in my opinion, 60 is too big especially if you will be watching SD, Tv, Cable etc.

at 3 metres viewing distance , na , too close

edit , its a 60in kuro , buy buy buy buy buy.....

Should add:-

5th problem - convincing myself it's not too big.

Currently have a 50in Panny, which feels right for my viewing distance. Suppose it's difficult to appreciate how much bigger the Pioneer will be, although as mentioned, WHF suggested sitting at least 2.7m away.

i could have bought one here in ireland a few weeks ago for e1500 , thats about £1250 , i couldnt get the money together , im still in a mourning period

if someone else on here said 1250 i probably wouldnt believe them , trust me , it was e1500 , i couldnt believe it myself , the salesman who sold me my g10 phoned me to tell me about it , i went out and seen it instore , as new display model , but i couldnt get the dough ...

Even my viewing distance is about 3m & settled for a 50-inch TV. I thought that the 60-inch Kuro made for an uncomfortable viewing when I demoed it at the store, especially with fast moving images & SD. 50-inch TV is perfect for 3m viewing distance.

Why don't you demo the TV yourself in the store at your viewing distance & decide for yourself?

I'm thinking that it is going to be too big. I'm half tempted to buy it and put it on fleabay though (or build a cinema room).

VoodooDoctor:Build the cinema room, you know you want to...

Building the cinema room or making your living room bigger are probably the only way to go. I'm with bigboss, I've got a 50" Kuro and wouldn't want to be closer than 3m. For the 60", your probably looking at 4m+.

I have the 50 inch Pioneer LX5090, the shortest distance to my sofa is 3m and I wouldn't go any larger, at the furthest distance away it's 4.8m and that is perfect!! Why don't you buy the tv and also buy a house with a bigger lounge lol...

Try and get your hands on the model I have!!

P.S The Pioneer Kuro's are fantastic and worth every penny, I love mine!!

I was planning to turn the garage into a gym but I could change it into a cinema room and just join a gym.

Combine the two - turn it into a TV room with a Wii fit and some weights in the corner...
