Hi All at what-HiFi, you must get cheesed off with being asked about so much kit, whens is it out when is the review Etc.

So with this mind dare i ask if you have any info or a sneek peek coming soon, or even a review, as i understand this player is priced at the end of players maybe a stripped down version of the LX-71, but to compete with the Sonys and Panasonics.

Many thanks

Thought the info might be of interest.

strong in the visual disc market and with Blu-Ray they are not about to lose that position. From the early days of Laserdisc through DVD and DVD recorders and now finally to BluRay Pioneer have been involved in the development of the systems themselves. Even leading the way here and there. A massive investment in research for them and as a result they produce some fine equipment.

This player is the first in this years range of Blu-Ray machines but corners have not been cut. From the sleek black chassis to the 1080p/24fps capability of the video circuits the designers have eeked out the best they can for a very modest price point.

Pioneer don't do cheap when it comes to quality machines but they do offer superb value. The BDP-51FD will reproduce 1080p/24fps Blu-Ray faultlessly with 12-bit HDMI Deep colour, video adjustments and PQLS jitter free audio.*

*When connected via HDMI to a SC-LX71 or SC-LX81 AV receiver the Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS) locks the two audio clocks together vastly reducing 'jitter' providing better musical playback.

The HDMI 1.3a connection carries all the HD audio formats currently available as well as the HD video content up to 1080p/24fps. 12-bit Deep Colour is supported for improved colour rendition on compatible screens.

If you do not have a decoder for HD audio you can use the internal Wolfson DAC and output your audio through the 7.1 analogue multichannel outputs so you lose nothing of the HD quality soundtracks*. Component video is provided for screens without HDMI connection.

Being a profile 1.1 machine all the Bonus View content is available at the touch of a button, interactive discs can provide extra content with picture in picture and second audio streams to take you inside the movie in ways DVD special features never could.

KURO Link ensures they player will operate from a single remote when linked to a KURO screen (LCD or Plasma).

*Internal decoding of DTS-HD High Resolution and DTS-HD Master will be available with future firmware updates. Currently only streaming is possible with these formats.
