pioneer amp help

I have a Pioneer SC-LX81 Amp ( 5.1 surround sound system attached ) connected via an HDMI cable to a Pioneer PDP-LX 508D Plasama ( no speakers attached directly to the TV ).

The volumn for the 5.1 speakers is controlled via the amp which is indicated on the amp display.

Can I set up my Amp and TV so the volumn which the Amp outputs is shown on the TV display as well as the Amp display

It worked on mine (I have the same amp but the KRP TV).

I turned mine off. Once I turned HDMI control off it went away.

I believe if you turn HDMI Control on, on the amp that may do it.

You may also have to turn it on on the TV too. If your TV allows that? Not sure.

I actually liked HDMI control on as it turned on or shut down both the amp and the TV when I turned the amp (or TV) on or off but it had other side effects which I didn't like.
