I've been reading people have to be carefull with speaker and source matching with this int amp.

Any particular bookshelf speakers that work very well with this amp?

If you want to go Old Skool and in keeping with the Vintage, some Epos ES11's or ES14's would be great!

From personal experience it works well with B&W 685's, I have also had good results with Quad 12L's and have been told - though cannot confirm - that it goes well with newer Dali's

I've been running my modified A400 with MA RX6 to good effect.

B&W 685 has been recommended, but for my taste this combination sounds a bit agressive.

I'd prefer a mellower option like Epos.

I've used my A400 to power Mission 751s (not Freedom) and they sounded great. But, to my ears, I think the A400 needs to power something a little beefier. Currently driving Acoustic Energy AE109s - I like this very much.

A400 was bought new many years ago, both sets of speakers bought on ebay for peanuts.
