Hello,

Just to let you know that the panasonic G20 is an amazing TV (for those plasma sceptics out there). I was really surprised with the greath depth of field in picture. Watching a movie is not like just watching a film, it`s more like watching a drama play. It`s hard to explain, it is different that watching a movie on LCD or LED .

My conclusion is do not rule out Plasma TV`s , just because they demand a little bit more power to operate. Tha panasonic can be set to Eco mode.

Cheers

Congratulations with your TV!

And well said

I fully agree and think too many people rule out plasma before they even start to consider what would suit their needs best.

I talked myself into getting a lcd but now think plasma is the way to go. I'm just waiting my refund to come through the I think it will have to be a 46G20. I can't think of another tv to compare against it. I didn't like the Sony tvs. I've gone off the Samungs. If only they did a 46" V20 or VT20.

Panasonic 46g20, is a very good tv.. for alittle bit more i`ll ge the 50 inch. What is your sitting distance. I watch very high quality DVDs (not HD) from a distance of 2.8metres and to me that distance is optimal.. cant wait for Full HD films.

Depending which sofa it's 2.6 to 3.0m. The wife initially was only into the idea of 37" tv. I thought I'd push it and go for a 40". Then when I started looking, a lot of the sets on my list were 42". I pushed it big time with the 46". I had the box delivered to her work as I knew there would be someone to sign for it. I got the phone call saying "You're sleeping n the garage tonight!". She came around when it was installed. With it being thinner it could be pushed further back into the corner. This gave us more room in our lounge. I don't feel I can now go down to a 42". When I decorate the lounge I'm going to mout the tv on the wall. A 50" tv would be to big and not leave enough room for the speakers to go either side without looking silly. Plus I don't think the marriage could stand it.

There is a 46" 3D plasma tv on the way from Panasonic this year, so hold your thought and wait for release date before jumping onto the 46" G20

I'd only heard of a 42VT20. I don't know if I can wait much longer. Having no tv at all is upsetting the little lad a bit. No Oso whilst he gets dried after his bath. The wife is streesing that the Sky box is going to run out of space soon. I think I'll have to get some noise cancelling headphones at the same time as the tv. I can't be doing with all Ugly Betty type of pap she records.

My Panasonic UK rep who is also my source of info did advise me that a 42" and 46" 3D plasma tv's are on their way this year. The 42" will be available in 2 models, one of them is the GT20 as mentioned above by TKratz, which is the entry level 42" 3D tv and there will be a higher end 42" model too (the GT20 is due in a few weeks ive been told and is estimated to be around £1499 with 2 pairs of glasses included in the price). As for the 46", no model info yet or date of release but only thing ive been told is that it will be out before the end of the year all being well. Fingers crossed!

As i've mentioned previously, Panasonic will announce details of its remaining 2010 line-up - including more 3D TVs - at the huge IFA show in Berlin.

We'll be reporting directly from the show with all the details, including UK availability. The Panasonic press conference is at 3-4pm on Wednesday 1st September; expect Twitter coverage live from the conference (wi-fi/3G signal permitting!) with full news/blog update to follow.

Great, while your there can you ask panasonic to fix the 50hz motion problems on the V20/VT20, then I could actually buy one..

Confirmed, 3D plasma tv additions to Panasonic's 2010 range: 42" 3D plasma models: TX-P42GT20 and TX-P42VT20. Also 46" 3D plasma tv model: TX-P46VT20 are due this year.

Also due in this year are 3D blu ray home cinema systems: SC-BTT350 and SC-BTT755.

I can confirm these models as our Panasonic rep has put these on back order for us through Panasonic UK.

Ha Ha Ha. Virtually just like I said. I got a 46G20 on Thursday. So far I'm quite impressed. I've not noticed any floating blacks or colour banding. It does buzz a bit on the white menu screens on Forza 3. I don't like the idea that it only takes 720p and not 1080i/p over component. What a carry on trying to sort that out. The 360 was set to 1080p getting a picture to alter the settings was a faff.

I have noticed on fast moves and pans the image blurs slightlty and the colours go slightly green. Is this phosphor(?) trailing and if so will it clear up as the panel settles down? Also the wife noticed colour banding on some sd material recorded on the Sky+.

We'll have to wait and see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

Any ideas on pricing and release dates? Is it anytime soon or more likely in time for the Christmas promotions?
