Hi All After much reading I bought this tv a week ago and have found that I am having problems especially with sd freeview pictures..namely...... faces appear blurred especially newsreaders etc football viewing is also a problem during long shots all the players blur. I tried a direct comparison against my outgoing tv ( pana 32 inch lcd) and although the plasma had far better colour and deeper blacks, the lcd which is 3 years old, gave a far sharper picture and revealed more detail. would freesat/sky alter this in any way or is it a problem with the set? any thoughts please?

Sounds odd, I don't have any issues with my 42px80. You could try messing with the picture settings... namely sharpness. Also, have a look at your connections, and if you have the signal running through a PVR or DVD recorder try plugging the aerial direct to the telly to see if that makes a difference. It could be that you just need to get used to it, LCD is very harsh in comparison to Plasma and you are interpreting it as a reduction in quality.

Have you made sure all the image "enhancement" options ar turned off ? They can cause a lot of headacches!

Interesting thought. It is running through a pana dvd/hard drive recorder. although I put the lcd through the same set up and the faces were not blurred in any way.
I have also taken all the "enhancement" features off with no improvement.

Tried the sharpness settings yet? Or dierct connection with aerial? If the cable you are using for the aerial is made up of components rather than a sealed cable, try redoing the connections incase they have come loose, that happened to me when changing my av rack recently

Possibly, but that is only the answer if signal reception is an issue. The old telly worked fine (i take it that it was freeview), so I doubt you are having reception issues. Do you experience the same picture problems with DVDs?
