Hi all,
Just wanted to ask something about the picture settings on the Panasonic 42pz80, using a THX optimizer dvd test, the first test 'Contrast test'. from say 50% to 100% I can't seem to tell the difference, it says set it till the first box is so brilliantly bright but you can still distinguish the other shades of white, well i can still distinguish the other shades even at 100% contrast....
?? So leave it on 100% you say? but on Whathifi's quick guide to picture setting, it said roughly 65% should be enough.
The biggest difference I get is flicking through the picture modes, Dynamic makes all the colour stands out, normal mode is same as Eco mode to my eyes, whilst Cinema mode is the lightest of them all, the blacks don't get as black as the other modes, shouldn't Cinema mode be the darkest? fellow users or <cough>... busy reviewers collaborate on this? also, you guys leave it on normal colour managment right? and don't use the cool or warm option? oh and one last thing, is there a high pitch whistling kind of noise with your panny after it being on for a few hours?
Thanks, much obliged to anyone answering this
