I own a Panasonic 42G10 and I 'm very pleased with the TV.

There's one thing that bothers me though.

When receiving 16:9 feed on SD, the TV crops the signal to fit the screen but it cuts the image more than it should.  So I end with an image missing a slice at the bottom and top.

Is there any way to fix this problem?

 Many thanks!!!

No not really i'm afraied it's either overscan on or off, i have a panny PZ81 & find when it zooms in on overscan that it is minimal i do'nt lose that much of the picture.

Thanks!ÿ

Well, If there isn't a fix, I am really surprised that Panasonic would intentionally program the TV to cut part of the picture. ÿThere must be a better explanation...

Well, I was doing some research in Google and there seems to be an adjustment for vertical and horizontal overscan in the "service menu". ÿUnfortunately I have not been able to find the code to access this menu yet.

Does anyone know where I can find it?ÿ

Thanks!ÿ

Panasonic have implemented the overscan feature correctly. SD broadcasts have an area around the edge of the picture which is not expected to be seen by broadcasters and this is the bit that the overscan hides. Look up 'overscan' in Wikipedia and all will be explained.
