Onkyo TX-SR606 and DS-A3- no video!!

Hello,

I have the Onkyo TX-SR606 hooked up at home. My wife bought me the Onkyo DS-A3 iPod dock for Christmas. I have set up the Dock as per the instructions:

• Red and white cables into the Game/TV slot
  Yellow cable into the Game/TV slot
  Component cable into Assignable 1
  R1 cable into R1 slot

I have also:

• Changed "Game/TV" to "Dock."
  Assigned Coax 1 to Game/TV and Component 1 to Game/TV.
  Left the switch on the back of the Dock set to HD/Dock

I can control the Dock via either remote control. I get music via the amplifier from the iPod when it is on Game/TV (Dock) but I cannot get the iPod menu on my television screen. The manual states that I should be able to view the menu on my TV.

What am I doing wrong?

I had this problem untill i was told it doesn't work for older ipods, i have nano 1st generation & i can't get the OSD to work for me either, you need to upgrade your ipod for it to work.
