Older Speaker Cable any good?

I have some Esoteric Audio USA speaker cable from the early 1990s. The markings read: Inter-Path Low Induction - Perfect Symmetry OFHC Windings - Polyethylene Dialetric. I seem to recall paying about a $1/ft but thirty years will do funny things to memories.
Was this cable any good back in the day?
Is it still any good?
Does speaker cable "go bad" (LOL) and need to be replaced?
If the cable is decent quality and still "good", how much would I need to spend to get something appreciably better?
For reference, I'm running a Yamaha R-N800A Network Receiver into Hales Design Group Revelation 2 loudspeakers. When/if those go kaput I'll probably replace with some KLH Model 5s.
Thanks in advance!
