(Can I pay the royalties in Hobnobs JD?)

Well, the itch got to the point where it had to be scratched.

I've only gone and bought an LP12!

Very nice, from a dealer who has fully serviced it, with the Ittok arm.

And an barely used Linn Asak cartridge. Which leads me onto my question.

I've only got MM boards in my Naim - would the Asak be enough of an upgrade over my Denon DL-110 to warrant spending at least £100 on either an external preamp or the Naim boards, or should I stick with the Denon and flog the Asak?

I can't try it without buying either the preamp or the cards, so would welcome any advice!

I've taken some advice from elsewhere, and as I'm no stylus expert and cannot determine the amount of use, I feel I would be better off moving the 35h-old DL from my PL-12d. I'll probably put the Asak on ebay, where someone with more experience than me can make good use of it...

I might post a mini-review comparing the LP12 to the PL12d and my 505/2 if and when I get 5 mins...if anyone's interested?
