no sound from left hand speaker

Hi my system is a nsd cd player sony 300 multi cd player and sky plus box running through a yamaha av amp with jpw p1 speakers all sound great except when first started .......there is just a faint distorted sound from the left speaker then about 20 seconds later the sound kicks in and its perfect.The woofers and tweeters were replaced last year with new ones What do you think am?p speakers? cables? crossovers?

swap the speakers over if the trouble stays with the same speaker there lies the problem,if it stays on the left then cable,amp, or interconnect.

Reverse your interconnects from your source to amp - If the distortion follows its the source.... Maybe. It could also mean your interconnect is dodgy.

If you have digital out on your CD player try a single leg of your inter connects from player to the digital coax in to your amp.

The dac will split the signal and confirm/Bypass the analog R/L outs on the players.

If the distortion remains in the same speaker swap the speakers.

If the distortion follows the speaker swap its your speakers if you have the problem from all devices , if your sky is connected via HDMI that'll suggest the amp.
