Help

I have set my Panasonic BD50 up to output sound to my Onkyo TX-SA605 via HDMI lead. Everything is fine with sound output as Dolby Digital, until the film starts, at the point the sound track switches to Dolby True HD (National Treasure 2) the sound disapears. I can listen via coax as dolby digital. Checked all the stiings on BD player and amplifier any ideas.

Could be your HDMI lead. If its not a version 1.3 it won't output HD sound.

That's what I am afraid of, I have bought leads recently, but may have to look to confirm if they are 1.3.

Cheers

I have bought a new 1.3 HDMI cable and the system is either not transmitting or the Onkyo is not receiving, I can use the Optical and get DTS but not HD, am I doing something wrong or have I got a problem?

As long as the settings are correct, it should work. Probably worth contacting Panansonic and then Onkyo (in that order as Panny can ensure you have everything outputting correctly before you contact Onkyo) to see if anything is amiss.

That will be the next step, it seems so disapointing that everything was in place, and then this anti climax to having HD sound.

Thanks
