Newbie to FLAC & AAIF

Hi

I'm interested in downloading some HD music and i have a couple of questions before a dip my toe.

[*]My Marantz 6003 has a 192 khz/24 bit DAC, is this compatible with the lossless codes
[*]Would my reciever decode via USB so i can demo before i spend any money on additional kit?

I enjoy my current CD set-up for music but i'd just like to sample a HD source at home, before i spend any significant money

The USB socket on the front of your amp will accept a memory stick or similar formatted as fat16 or fat32.. The amp will decode mp3, wma, aac and wav files saved to this. Have a look at pages 47 and 50 of your manual.

You could always connect a spdif equipped pc to a spare digital input and the amp will play any file as the pc will output as pcm. I play all my flacs this way using winamp and a soundcard with an optical output.
