New to the site , Looking for help on buying an AV reciever !!

Hi there my name is chris and im new to the AV market and im total confused about what reciever to start off with , i have a budget between 4 and 5 hundred pounds and im looking to seek advice from fellow forum users on whats the best allrounder to buy in this price range .....

The best all-rounder is probably Denon's AVR1910, although it depends on what speakers you're using. Don't expect musical miracles from any reciever, though...

Although the 2010 crop of recievers will start to trickle to market now, which will mean (possibly) better stuff, and deeper discounts on 2009 stock.

I would think that the forthcoming Onkyo SR608 would be a strong contender.

Thanks for the replys i originally thought of the
Sony STR-DA2400ES

But reading in certain forums it has a really bad sound problem with hissing ... But after seeing the forthcomming onkyo that certainly looks to be a strong buy ....
