Im looking to buy a flat screen tv for the very 1st time and am a rookie in all the technical jargon. Ive been looking at the sony range and see that their new range of 3000 tvs are just coming out. I was wondering if anyone had some good advice on weather or not i should go for the newer kdl40s3000 or kdl40d3000 or if getting the older kdl40w2000 which is now reduced in price would be a better option. Thanks

in my price range they seem to be coming in with the best deals and good quality too. Found a good deal for the 40w2000 with 870 rec dvd and wall bracket and 5 yr W. The other tv i considered was the samsung 40"

Hi,

I was also looking at the Sony 40D3000 - I went to the local Sony Centre the other day to be told they are replacing this with a new 'V' model. The 'V' model retails at about £400 more expensive (wasn't able to confirm the price) but adds 1080P and a piano black case a-la-Samsung.

The 40W was one I had thought about and now looks more attractive with it's recent price drop to under £1400 at Sony with a free 5 year warranty.

I quite liked the KDL - 37P3020 which is neater than a 40" and would actually suit my viewing range better. Not full HD 1080 but as shown in this mag, stats shouldn't count for everything.

Hope you find the right tv for you.

Cheers,

Cofnchtr.
