New Mission CD transport

For no obvious reason I find this new transport look nicely functional and practical. The new Quad, from the same stable, looks neat too. Do they appeal to anyone else?

Hope to see them both next month at the Bristol show. Not that I need any more playing devices, but no harm in being interested!

I quite like the look but don't think I will ever use a CD transport, an SACD transport on the other hand..........

Nice, I share your sentiment, if it had a SACD compatible transport, I'll definitely consider purchasing.
Shanling seems to be one of the few manufacturers, other than Sony supporting SACD.

Yes, I have my eyes on a Shanling transport should my Oppo ever fail.

Apologies for the duplicated post, something weird going on with my mobile!

It certainly appeals to me but was a little too late to the party.

Back when I was looking at a new amp and CD player I was certainly looking at the Mission amp but the matching CD player (I like my components to match) was nowhere to be seen. Mission did confirm to me one would follow but could not give a timeframe so in the end I opted for the Marantz PM7000N and CD6007.

I am a fan of the form factor (having had many Cyrus products in the past) and I like the styling, so if I was in need of another system I would certainly be interested.

It's cute. Small form format gives you a lot of flexibility if you're really tight for space.

I remember seeing a Cyrus Discmaster and Dacmaster in a hifi shop in the mid 90's and asking why a CD player needed two boxes. I think it was the first time I ever heard the word DAC.

I probably never thought about again until got a new CD player around 2000 which had a digital output. Not that I ever used it as my CD player has a good DAC.

The idea of a CD transport makes so much sense these days as so many AMPs have DACs and lots of people have external ones. Its certainly something I would consider if I found myself needing a CD player.

Nothing particularly unusual about it but it would go nicely with the Nait 50. But then it would not go nicely with my other amps.

I'll stick with the Audiolab CDT which doesn't match the Naim but goes with two others 🙂

From my experience with the small box Amps over a period of time always seem to have over heating issues leading to other issues nice to look at. prefer the silver would consider a CD but not a Amp of this size.
