New CD Player Advice Sought - circa GBP 500

I have an old NAD 502 CD player that I have hooked-up to a Marantz PM66 Signature Series Amp and B&W DM602 speakers. It sounds great, but it's old and I want to upgrade it.

I have about GBP500 to spend on a new player and having been out of the hi-fi world for a while (as you can tell by the age of my kit) wanted to know if anybody had any good ideas on players I should try.

Thanks in advance,

Christian

Rega Apollo - £498 if you look around on the net (I got mine from Infidelity in Kingston-upon-Thames). Excellent player.

Have a look for a 2nd hand Rotel RCD1070. I auditioned the Apollo (and an Arcam CD82) at the same time as this and the Rotel blew them away. I also use B&W speakers.

I say 2nd hand because that model is discontinued and I can't vouch for its replacement.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've actually decided that I'm going to blow a bit more cash, and wondered what you thought about either the Audiolab 8000CD or the Roskan Kandy MKIII?

The idea being to upgrade at the beginning of next year to either an new Audiolab 8000 Q and P set-up or second-hand Roksan Kandy MkIII pre and power set-up, but would my speakers cope?

Sorry for asking yet more advice.
