I guess it depends what you call loud... I used to run jet engines inside buildings thats loud.!!! In a room 5x4m like my mancave 50w a side is more than loud enough without causing permanant hearing loss...

If you're looking for functionality in the digital age I would look at something like the Yamaha R-N803d. We have the R-N602 and it's a wonderful base for our system. The TV is connected with an optical cable. It's got a very decent MM phono stage. It does Spotify Connect really well. It does AirPlay really well. Etc, etc.
However, I just read about the new Onkyo TX-8390 and that seems to have even better functionality if you want to integrate your audio and video because it's got HDMI inputs and outputs. That's about the only things I miss with the Yamahas.
