my new amp wont power up ?

i have just bought a black denon 1909 got home left it about an hour sitting there then plugged in the lead and nothing i checked the fuse plug top and even then got my probes out the car and i am getting 230v approx at the other end, am i missing something or have i got a faulty one

May sound daft, but are you sure you're pressing the right button? My Onkyo has a large standby button on the front, but the actual power button is hidden away behind the flap on the front. I wonder if your Denon has a similar lay-out.

lol i was nearly in tears the manual is rubbish thanks it was a tiny button like you get for speaker a and b type size thanks for your time
