Well I think I am almost finished
emotion-21.gif
just a couple of small additions (a black rug maybe) I am also having a Maple cover made to go over the centre speaker cable (that's what you get for hanging your screen on wires) and then I am ready to watch some movies
emotion-1.gif

I have gained a lot of knowledge over the past few months as I started out as a complete novice, and I also had a few problems to overcome
emotion-42.gif
along the way, but I think it was all worth it. And a BIG thanks to my wife for alowing it all to go ahead

..........Where did you get the cinema seat's from?

Ahem... "Seating from Evertaut Ltd the Orion range."

Can't help thinking with that amp and blu-ray that you've short-changed on the speakers a little.

Of course I'm just jealous cos I haven't got a projector...

They came from a company called Evertaught http://www.evertaut.co.uk/auditorium_and_lecture_theatre_seating/default.asp they are from the range called Orion and are in black reconstituted leather although they will upholster using many different materials (and add extras like cup-holders). I asked them for a row of three but they will supply any type of configuration I am sure, these are extra wide seats to, just talk to them, they were very helpful. I have the details of a great sales contact there if anyone wants it.

The seats cost £700 for the three but the leather made quite a difference, they were a lot cheaper in other material but I wanted to keep that 'black look' throughout.

Maybe that is something I have learned as a novice in this world of Home Cinema, I tried to do my homework but couldn't audition lots of kit before I made my choices. I went from revues in What Hi Fi and forum posts. I have tried a number of BluRay disks and they sound GREAT so up to now I am not disappointed but if you know what would be better...

Oxocube are those seats more comfortable than the regular cinema ones that always give me a dead bum?

Proper love it, a wicked set-up. Although trying not to put a downer on it... if it were me and i had put that much effort into it i would have picked much better seats, still loving it though bet its great.

Wow, that's good value! I was expecting them to be a lot more than that.

Don't get me wrong, I expect the KEFs sound fine it's just that amp could easily handle much more, such as full size speakers. Still, gives you plenty of scope for future upgrades, which is half the fun!

mjs:just a thought.. why did you put the electrics on the atacmama rack and not in the cupboard behind the seats?

I did think of that at one point, but the electrics were all in that corner with a route up into the loft space above for the HDMI cable and power to the projector, so I went for that. I am going to use the cupboards for storing media etc.

I wanted 'proper cinema seats' I got that idea and couldn't stop until I achieved it. They are comfortable, and my wife loves them so they will be staying

Absoulutely brilliant. Best set-up on here, bar none!

A really well thought out room. well done.

Purely for comfort, as those low backed cinema chairs kill my back, I would have put in some black Lazy boys. But, for the aesthetics of the room, those cinema seats look the nuts!

I'm a very jealous boy!
