Musical Fidelity X-pre-V3 preamp into Quad 11L actives

Has anyone heard MF stuff matched with Quad? I need to quickly move to a system with a small footprint. As I already have the preamp, this could work well for me (Pllan B is a passive preamp). I will be using a Squeezebox and not a CD Player.

Also, can anyone comment on the reliability of IAG Quad gear?

I dont know what the Quad 11L actives sound like, are they much different to the passive 11L's? I know the old 11L's were class speakers. I owned a pair of Quad 11L2's at one point, great but not as good as the older model.

So you want to control them via the pre-amp?

Yeh, they require a separate preamp. This comes with the Quad CDP but I dont want to buy it.
