the 400 got a 5 star rating but then the dealer told me that 500 would be best for my lcd.

i have a sony KDL 26" T3000 and i want to connect it to my playstation 3

any suggestions would be good.

Strange that, given the fact the 500 is more expensive

The 400 will be more than adequate, as will the 300 for that matter, for that combination of equipment.
As long as they are 1.3 certified for your size screen, I wouldn't go too mad. Here are a few within your budget. http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/2074/qed-live-hdmi-for-ps3-1m/display.html this one has won loads of awards: http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/741/qed-performance-hdmi-hdmi-cable-qunex-hdmi-p-1m/display.html However, these would work perfectly well for cheaper. http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/1838/fisual-hollywood-hdmi-interconnect.-1080p-v1.3-high-purity-26awg-conductor-1.5m-length/display.html http://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/dynamic/eshop_products.set/ref/811/fisual-pearl-hdmi-interconnect-1m-v1.3-latest-specification/display.html

Given that over short lengths, so long as it's made well, the picture will be no different.

Do not fall for the cable company's marketing blurb. I have a £55 QED HDMI cable I bought a year or so ago and can see absolutely NO difference whatsoever when compared to the one supplied with my dvd player (c. £5).

Save you money for something else.
I bet your circa £5 one is not certified 1.3a and therefore will not give lip sync, 24fps etc., with components that are compatible - ie the OP's PS3.

I know this keeps on coming up but I still don't understand people paying stupid money for HDMI leads!

I bought a Plexus Gold Plated HDMI to HDMI Cable (Black) 2m from ebuyer for a whopping £2.99 inc delivery, HDMI Version 1.3 with a lifetime guarantee.

I have a calibrated Pioneer LX508 plasma and a VSX-LX70 amp using a PS3 and a Tosh HD-DVD player for movies.I compared the Plexus with a Monster HDMI 400 on my setup at home and guess what......NO difference with sound or picture!

People please stop feeding these companies your well earned cash!

I agree with the above.

HDMI is a digital connection, just 1s and 0s. No interference as its not analogue. Spending a fortune on HDMI cables dont change the 1s into 2s
