It would help if you could be rather more specific. It appears that you want an amp with built-in DAC but do you also want streaming as you mention an all-in one? Also, what is your preferred budget and maximum you will consider spending?Hello,
I am looking for a modern integrated amplifier that is a good fit for b&w dm4 speakers. Could also be a good amp+dac+preAmp combo but preferably an integrated all-in-one amplifier tho
Any tested recommendations?
Thank you
Hello, yes i ment amp+dac. Does not have to have streaming. I can solve this "outside" of the integrated amp.It would help if you could be rather more specific. Do you have any specifications for the dm4 although you can look these up on the internet. Virtually any decent modern amp will work with them but it would be worthwhile knowing if they drop to a low impedance for part of their range. Other than that it would be worth checking what they sound like with any shortlisted amps which you can do at specialist shops including Richer Sounds if you are in the UK.

Yes, that sound nice to me with my denon amp with cheap topping DAC. But you think that inneed a vintage amp to get the best sound? There is no modern amp that can make these speakers "shine" even more? You are looking for a modern amp to drive 40 year old pair of speakers designed for bookshelf use, that only require 10-30watts. Most decent modern amps will sound OK. I would just go for a Marantz pm6007 or a PM7000N if you want an integrated streamer.
Does it have a DAC?![]()

Denon Dra f109 and topping e30 DAC.What Denon amplifier? You haven't mentioned this before.
Keep your DAC and look for a good integrated in that case.Denon Dra f109 and topping e30 DAC.
OkKeep your DAC and look for a good integrated in that case.
Suggest something like a Musical Fidelity M2si if you can get one where you are.
Also it's just an amplifier so depends on what other sources you may require
Yes, one for me as well😂😂😂![]()

Not sure if something is getting lost in translation here. You asked for a recommendation for a modern amp, and are now suggesting a vintage one may be better?Yes, that sound nice to me with my denon amp with cheap topping DAC. Hello, Yes inwpuld prefer a modern amp . Juste for the practicality. But im not fixed on that. If there is a spec. vintage Amp that sounds better with the speakers i would very much want to know witch one.Not sure if something is getting lost in translation here. As far as making your speakers "shine", they are what they are, the amp I suggested will be more than enough to bring out the best in them. There are many vintage amps that will do this too.
The USP of your speakers isn't how great they sound, but how easy they are to place. They will sound better on a bookshelf, against a wall, or in a corner than other speakers of the era that in turn will sound better than yours when optimally placed on stands with room around them.

Has anyone listed tonthewe speakers with different Amps? If so. Did any of the Amps you tested stand out as better sounding with the b&w dm4s?![]()
OK, if change the question then. What is the best amps with built in DAC for max around 500$(used) for my speakers? Max age of the Amps. Around 10-15 years. The speakers are a little niche, and quite old, I would be surprised if anyone has vast experience of auditioning different amps with them. The only reason I know them, I saw a pair in someone's house once. They were paired wit a Cyprus amp and CD. I didn't hear them used. Amp and speakers were chosen for size and placement over anything else.
As we have no idea as to used prices in Sweden you might like to get that Hegel....OK, if change the question then. What is the best amps with built in DAC for max around 500$(used) for my speakers? Max age of the Amps. Around 10-15 years.
I was looking at(reading about) the hegel h80. Its sold for around 3-400$ used here in Sweden.

Hegel is very neutral and dynamic sounding with a Lot, really a Lot of details. This combined with your B&W dm4 speakers, which are moreless studio speakers is a combination for a short listenning. Proposed Marantz amps are a lot better combination. Or some used Cambridge Audio amp like 61 or 81 will be fine as well.OK, if change the question then. I have just done a search online and can't find anything I would choose over a new Marantz PM6007 for £349 (sale price usually £400 to £450).

Hi. I'm using a Marantz Model 30 with my 1990 B&W 805 Matrix. Very happy with the result. I also used this integrated amplifier with a pair of 802 Matrix series 2 for a while. I completely rebuilt those and then let the original owner buy them back because he missed them so much and I actually preferred the smaller 805 finding them a little more neutral, less visually imposing and couldn't make myself part with them because to me they sound so good. I'm also using a B+W PV-1 sub wired to the speaker terminals.Hello,
