meridian director

hi all i have a chance of getting a meridian director dac....wil it be worth splashing out the cash....im going to be hooking it up to my pc using foobar..flac/mp3.320...files....connecting to my pioneer A-20 amp going into kef q100 speakers....in my spare room....will i notice a diffrence or is it just a wast of time..?

I do think an external DAC will improve on your PC to amp connection. I'm not sure you need to spend that much, based on your system I'd be more inclined to look at a Cambridge audio DAC magic 100 for about 130 pounds

The Director is ancient in DAC terms. May I suggest a new Audioquest Dragonfly?
