Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm confused by some of the new technology and terms out there at the moment. Basically, I would like to set up a system whereby I can play all my downloaded mp3's, Flac and movies through a decent quality hi fi set up, I have a decent collection of cd's but do not possess a cd player at present, I do not wish to "burn" them so would be interested in a decent cd player within the system too.
Is the way forward using a Network Media Player or can any decent Media player be used. I listen to my current music collection through my laptop using a budget DAC and some average laptop speakers in a different room to where I would like the hi fi system to be set up.
I have a budget of around £2000 any advice would be greatly welcomed, sorry if I've forgotton any obvious information,
