Hi

I just began to wire the speakers to the amplifier and I think I am right but just in case. Has anybody else wired up this pair, I am not tech minded and I dont want to do damage I have bi wired the speakers according to the instructions which is the positive hf+Lf+ to the +ive speaker A on the amp and HF-LF- to the -ive speaker A and the same for B.But what about impedance next to it I dont think any thing goes there and what size jack is needed for the various connections 3.5mm is too big. :?

thanks

hoggie,

Sorry to be blunt, but you clearly do not have a clue about this, but that is ok, we all started like this.

Speak to your dealer and have him go through the connections with you using the same or similar equipment in the shop, make him go through it and ask questions until you are quite sure you understand exactly what you are doing.

It is not difficult but you can get it wrong and you can cause damage, stop now and go and talk to your dealer. Do not worry about looking silly, we all had to start somewhere, if your dealer is even half competent he will have done this a hundred times before.

Hi

The problem is my dealer is in a different country

Ahhh, that is a problem.

Let's keep it simple then.

Your speaker cable should be simple twin core, often presented as two subtantial copper cores in a sheath, it is often figure of 8 in cross section.

There is usually some sort of 'coding' on one of the cores, it might be a molted ridge ore a coloured stripe. Consder this core to be positive throughout.

Connect one set of cables from connections A on the amplifier to either pair of connectors on the 2050i, make sure that the supplied links on the speaker terminals remain in place. Use freshly stripped ends, through the holes that appear once the connectors are unscrewed, the positive terminals will be marked in red or with + marks.

Do all the connectors back up as tight as you can, make sure there are no stray strands of copper anywhere and that the links on the speakers are not disturbed.

Repeat fror the other speaker, double check and you are good to go. Forget anything else.
