Marantz MCR-603 Airplay sound problems

Hello guys, I'm posting on here just incase a solution pops up but I fear i'm delaying the inevitable.

When playing music via Airplay the sound breaks up, not a drop out like a network, it happens for a few seconds as if I were tuning a radio.

It gets the internet via Airport express, and ive swapped that unit with another, and tried a different Ethernet cable.

Any suggestions? It's broken isn't it, SIGH.

What about removing the AirPort Express and have the ethernet go directly to the back of your router?

Not sure why you need the AirPort Express.

It's because the marantz needs a wired internet connection and my 603 is not in the same room as the router

In your situation it would be better to use something like homeplugs than wireless.

I use Homeplugs with my Marantz 603 to get the Airplay function to work without any problems.

The Airport express performs wireless duties fine, no problems before using with other devices so homeplugs shouldn't be needed I hope.

Have just hooked it up directly to the router and it's still breaking up.

There might be drop outs over wifi if you are listening to hi-res music....I think there should be no drop outs with a wired connection. +2 for the home plus
