loss of picture

Can anyone help?

I seem to lose picture for approx 2 to 3 seconds occasionally. I would also mention that I continue to receive sound through the Onkyo and KEF speakers. I have tried swapping HD leads but fault remains.

The sky box is a Samsung product and is farily new as is the TV. The fault has only started in the last few days, prior to this all was well.

Try connecting the Sky box directly to the TV. If you still get the fault you have cleared the Onkyo, and the fault lies in the Sky box or TV. Do you get the fault with your Bluray/DVD player?

I also had something similar to this a couple of days ago, but reseated the hdmi between the my receiver and tv seemed to sort it out

If that doesn't solve it, I think it's probably HDMI copy-protection handshaking being lost every now and then. One cause can be conflicting HDMI remote control commands - make sure HDMI control is turned off on both receiver and TV.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. It occurs to me that having recently received the Logica Remote Control from your goodselves, this might now be the cause. If I turn off the HDMI control will it affect the Logica handset? Sorry I am a new comer to this.

No, the remote doesn't work through the HDMI CEC connection, but directly with the components in your system.
