Looking for good (cheap) headphones.

Grados are out of the equation. Not keen on the way they voice the music, and don't really want to spend anymore than £60.00.

They need to be detailed but smoother than Grado and have to be a proper headphone, as opposed to 'in-ear' version. I like the Sennheiser PX100 but the lead is very short.

Currently using logitech PC speakers (Xmas present) but they've suddenly packed up. Reluctant to spend over £60 on headphones as they normally get broken. Little'un uses them a lot on the computer.

Suggestions very welcome.

Cheers, PP.

The Sennheiser PX-200ii with simple EQ is not only much better than the PX-100ii, but better than anything else I've heard for a lot more money. My PX-200ii 'EQ' reviews are getting the feedback I was hoping for. I tried different EQ settings for the PX-100ii but none of them fixed the muddy sound. BTW, the PX-200ii in white has been selling at B&H in New York for $50 USD. There should be outlets across the pond as well.

Also worth investigating the AKG K450 headphones. There's a new model available (K451) which has meant decent discounts on the 450s as they came out last year, e.g. now available for less than half the original RRP! I purchased a pair from Richer Sounds a few months ago for £50 and just checked... they're now down to £43! Bargain!

Includes a case and a couple of different length cables you can swap in/out. The 'phones are portable on-ear style, i.e. quite diddy, but pretty good for portable usage and without much audio leakage at reasonable volume levels.
