Hi all,

Glass of wine in hand, PMC's singing London Grammar to me, and good god it sounds amazing, her voice is beautiful and haunting in the same sentence! Big smile on face!

Anyone recommend any similar amazing female similar vocalists?

would like to pour a 2nd glass of wine and chillaxx into some awesome tunes.

thanks.

Not too many contemporary singers in that style as good as her that I can think of, but a couple of older names would be Judy Tzuke or Everything but the girl... a couple other I've just thought of Emma Louise and her album versus head versus heart, or Daughter, If you leave.

I'd second everything but the girl. Tracey Thorn has one of the most beautiful and underrated voices in popular music. Her solo albums are great too. Favourite ebtg album has to be 'Idlewild'.

Thanks for the heads up! Just procured myself a copy of Emma Louise's album Versus Head Versus Heart following a brief Spotify audition! She cool!

Yes, some great suggestions there too and some I haven't heard of, so checking them out now!

Tusks... brilliant, pity only an EP and Twin Caverns too

Some more I've thought of:

Arthur Beatrice, Working Out, Oh Wonder by Oh Wonder

and Ry X, Dawn... not female, but in similar style.

I generally get some good pointers from this forum regarding artists/groups I haven't discovered yet and this occasion is no different. However, I've just spent some time listening to some of their tracks..... is it only me who doesn't find anything special about this lady's voice? Must be a generation thing I guess *unknw* .

Laura Marling through my pmc's is very nice...once I was an Eagle.

My brightest diamond (a thousand sharks teeth)and joan as policewoman (to survive)are a couple not mentioned as yet.

Love Laura Marling, particularly Short Stories and I do have 1 My Brightest Diamond album, but not got into Joan as Policewoman yet.

Don't think it's a generation thing, I'm in my fifties... she doesn't float your boat and that's it.

I like loads of artists who most people I know wouldn't give a fig for.

Sade. Inparticular her original 1984 to 1988 releases. The ones without excessive compression.

Alison Moyet, including her Yazoo stuff.

I am rapidly getting bored of this forum. I appreciate banter but does everything have to come down to cables?! I have some (very cheap ones) and bow to others knowledge on Hifi matters but seriously... indescribably bored now... seems every thread is cables debate or commented. Yawn.

It cannot be a debate as only infiniteloop has mentioned cables, admittedly in a jokey way.
