I currently have a satellite dish which was installed by Sky. I am terminating the contract and changing to Freesat (had enough of being ripped off and want HD free as it should be!). I want to add an additional TV in another room. I have been told all I need to do is change the LNB for a twin version. Is this so? Can anyone provide further details?

Many thanks for any advice.

Assuming its an Eliptical, 'Sky mini dish' you have, then no ones manufactured twin LNBs for them for years so you will need to buy a Quad LNB.

Some satellite retailers sell generic twin LNBs( meant for round dishes) with an adaptor to fit mini dishes but should be avoided as they wont give optimum signal.

The other thing you need to be aware of, is there has been four revisions to the design of mini-dishes over the years, so you need to make sure you get the right type of LNB,see HERE for more details.

Many thanks - the arm on mine seems to be approc 35x20mm - what type would this fall under?

BTW - is there a way of setting the alert to any posts so you get emailed automatically? I can't seem to find it and have to keep checking in!

BTW - is there a way of setting the alert to any posts so you get emailed automatically? I can't seem to find it and have to keep checking in! Unfortunately not...Though the site is due for an upgrade 'soon' so possibly a feature of the new site.

Hi - the link you sent shows LNB's for £16+... eBay do them for around £6-7 - is there a difference?
