Hi,

After taking the advice of many helpful forum members here, I bought myself a new CA 840A V1 amp two weeks ago which sounds awesome. Now I want to add a DAC to my setup to play music from my computer and need your valued advice once more.

After having read many reviews and threads about the Beresford and Dacmagic, it seems like they both are good with different strengths and shortcomings but both slightly out of my budget at the moment. While searching for a DAC under £200 I came across the Little Dot DAC_I having balanced outputs which I can use with my 840A, but I was unable to find any detailed reviews or discussions for this DAC except the following very positive review which is a bit encouraging but I needed to have your opinion before I could decide.

Dacmagic is now slightly cheaper than the Caiman but Little Dot DAC_I is even cheaper and fits nicely into my budget.

Has anyone here ever compared the DAC_I with the other two brands (Beresford Caiman, Dacmagic) in terms of SQ and reliabilty?

Your feedback will be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Nadeem

There's a chap over on the CyrusUnofficial forum who has tried the little dot transport and rates it quite highly, not sure if he's tried the DAC though.

Hi IanS1,

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping someone here may have had some experience of the DAC_I and can share some info. I will have a look at the forum you suggested.

Kind regards
