KEF KHT 3005 SE????

Anyone know when this speaker set up is due out?

As somene who was about to buy the existing set up next month (albeit at a huge discount) - I would be keen to see any pics or initial thoughts from the What HiFi crew .....

Hi Mark,

The special edition KEF 'eggs' are due in shops by September. They look almost identical to the original KHT3005 package, except with a new-look driver on the satellites. Both the sub and sats have been upgraded, but the price remains the same, at £1000.

We have the very first test sample currently sitting in our reviewing rooms, and will be publishing an exclusive, in-depth review on the package in our October issue, out August 23rd.

If you've read our review of the original package, you'll know we liked it, but felt it fell a little short of the best-in-class in terms of drive and overall excitement. KEF promises both these issues have been addressed in the SE package, but only time - and a lot of comparative testing - will determine if that is indeed the case.

Will you/Have you reviewed the kef 5005.2's at any point? How do they compare to say the 3005 or the 3005se's?
