With Pioneer going out of the AV business, I was worried my amp could brake and leave me without an amp, and a Pioneer amp is really important in my setup. So I saw this one on HSound.co.uk and bought it. It will be a spare for mine and my dad's system.

I might see if I can pick up some cheap speakers and do another setup in the house. We would've 3 then including mine and my dad's setup - cool! I got my Alphason stand and the Sony 46hx803 TV in one of the loundges, and my old Pioneer BDP-LX71 Blu-ray player and now the Pioneer sc-lx82 amp. Any cheap setups you know about going anyone? Need speakers, sub and cables. I got spare HDMI cables. Cheers!

Perhaps a second house might be a smart buy. You know, just in case... ;-)

It's a wasted purchase gel. It's almost as old as your existing amp, so good chance that they may break down together!! It makes sense to go for a new amp with all the bells and whistles when your current one breaks down.

Stop wasting money now, you've spent enough already. Look at your bank balance, and get a hold on your spendings.

Yeah, you say that every time, and then you just keep on spending! What would have made a bit of sense, if you are serious about the multi-system setup, would have been if you had kept your excellent LG 55EA980W OLED, which you traded in for only about £700?

Yep, that was what I was thinking too.

Keeping your credit card boxed seems like a good idea.
Yep, no more using it now and hoping I have a part time job too! *smile*

Gel, you can tell me to keep my nose out, I won't be offended, but are you making these purchases on credit, or paying for them outright?
On credit/parents. *smile*

My parents paid for half of the TV, but I will be paying them back. The rest has come from savings. But I am using a credit card.

Do you mean you own a credit card, but don't use this for AV purchases, or that your AV spending is partially funded by credit?

My concern, and again, it's really none of my business, is that credit and compulsive spending can lead to a downward spiral. You owe money; you feel down; you spend more to lift your mood; you repeat this cycle and things become progressively worse.

Yep, I think I have been doing a bit of this. AV spending partially funded by credit card/savings.

Just been fiddling with my HDMI cables now I can get my amp to work! I have the main one in the Blu-Ray player going to the TV and it's working without the amp, where am I going wrong? What does the rest do or don't? Cheers

No, I didn't have a credit card limit for the TV, the max I can buy is £4200! So I went half in two payments.

Have you connected the speakers to the amp?

Explain all your connections, post some pictures.
Cheers BB, afraid I can't take pictures of the amp it's too close to the wall. Has something like 4 HDMI inputs though and one other for something. The Blu-Ray player has two HDMI inputs one main and one sub. TV has 4 HDMI inputs. I have put Sky on HDMI 2 now for the TV.
