I'm wondering whether to pick up the JL Carbon http://www.johnlewis.com/230978177/Product.aspx over the Pure Digital One Elite or Pure digital Evoke-1S (the ipod dock would be useful), does anyone have any comments about it? Out of the three which one would be the best to go for? Are the other JL brands any good too?

Cheers,

P

I bought a DAB for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I haven't listened to that one, so my comments are qualified - however I did check out the cheaper JL models, and they sounded very poor by comparison to the Pure range.

In the end, I bought this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9240627/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+entertainment+and+sat+nav%7C14419512/c_2/3%7Ccat_15701176%7CDAB+digital+radio%7C14419581.htm

(I have yet to hear it in play - It's the new model of the one we have in our kitchen, so I'm fairly confident it will sound good. I can update you after the weekend, if you like.)

Thanks for the reply, I finally went for this tho and I really happy with it:

http://whathifi.com/Review/Sony-XDR-C705DAB/

It's size is perfect for my bedside table and it sounds and looks great, the others are too big and a lot of the Pure range are a bit ugly in my opinion (the Evoke / Tempus models have a cheap kitchen look about them)

Ideally I would've liked the Vita Audio R1 MkII but its too expensive but this Sony one I picked up is great....
