Don't get me wrong, I'll be buying the Blu-ray box set as soon as the price goes down after Christmas. It's camp, comedic, spy action caricature of the the finest quality and as British as it gets

Huh?? Have you seen, for example, The Mother, Love Is The Devil, Sylvia, Enduring Love etc?

And, IMVHO, he has some fine, atypical yet effective/moving moments in Casino' and especially Quantum' - eg, 747 bar scene with Mathis and latter's death scene; final scene with Camille (ie, in SUV); and the end scene with 'M'.
