At the moment I`m trying to incorporate a 40" LCD, 10yr old 5.1 surround sound sysyem, DVD/HDD recorder /Freesat/PS3 etc.. into a living room without it resembling a dealers show room and this is proving difficult without the components taking over.My Hifi had proved the same problem and took me probably 6 months of messing about positioning , trying not to compromise sound quality without the components actually dominating the room they were sited in which for the HIFI is a dining room
At the present moment I`m currently on my third change round of the above components within the living room and have now come to a final positioning without it completely taking over the room , which begs the question........... "do you let your equipment dominate the room , or do you try to fit the components into the room without them taking over" , or as myself ...let the wife make the final decision!!!!!
I know over the years I have let Hifi completely dominate the room that it was sited and have gone to utter ridiculous lengths in the actual area where I listened to HIFI to get the max out of the sytem but have somewhat relented over the years in now the hifi or tv sytem blends in without trying to compromise the sound too much.
