I've seen WHF's best buy 40" tv, the Philips 40PFL9704 for 1350 online. I would like to have gone for a 42" or a 46" but picture quality outweighs the size for me. Is there a better tv for that sort of money ??? I could stretch a few hundred if need be. Any help would be hugely appreciated !

regards

ok , well heres a few good tvs that you could consider , not saying they are better than the philips , thats subjective , but they are great tvs , the samsungs being fantastic value imo.. ...

samsung 50c7000 plasma , its a 3dtv , reviews are very good , its around £1250...

samsung 46c750 lcd , also 3d , 2oohz , good reviews , around £1100.. 40in £860..

panasonic 42v20 plasma , very good reviews , said by many to be amongst the best tvs on sale today..£1200ish..

panasonic 50v20 plasma , as above , £1500ish..

panasonic 50g20 , nearly as good as the v20 , but much cheaper ,ive seen them for around £1000..also 42-46in versions ..

either the 50v20 or the samsung 50c7000 for me , im actually trying to decide between the two myself , and the 50vt20 ..

the v20 is said to be very close in terms of picture quality to the pioneer kuro , the samsung is said to be on a par with the g20 but has 3d .. its a tough one ..

you may prefer lcd though , demoing is the only way to know really ...
