Your turntable looks fantastic Andy. Glad your pleased with it. Quite fancy the clear acrylic version myself.. Not sure if anybody on here has done it yet.

The SP kit might help with the base boom?

Cheers CJSF, bass boom seems to have gone, a mixture of speaker placement and TT upgrade.
Happy now, had a whole day listening to vinyl. Going to be knackered tonight at work tho.

Yep, I've got the black platter that looks exactly like a record - beware the dangers of vinyl and wine! I have on one occasion lowered the needle onto the vinyl platter. Torville and Dean , skating, ...
I found that it is better than the felt mat.

Well after numerous permitations couldn't really tell any difference.
Don't know if this is due to my ears or my system or both.
Anyway I've just purchased this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metal-Subplatter-with-Butyl-Gripping-for-Rega-turntables-platter-/200940399128?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=ZRTfdR%252BDDPy%252FLhZuK%252Byd1WZhDbU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
It has some good right ups on Vinyl Engine forum and half the price of the IsoKinetik ISOsub GT 2 S Upgrade Rega Sub Platter
So just waiting for it to arrive.
Cheers
Andy
DandyCobalt said:Mine went to Inspire with the original sub-platter plus damping kit, and came back with the damping segments separate. They must have experience of the Inspire being better without them. Perhaps because of much greater mass of the plinth and platter?
I then upgraded the rega subplatter to the Isokinetic/ruby one.
Andy - a warning - you're only a few steps from moving coil cartridge and valve phono preamp

The Argentinian SubPlatter is supposed to be very good!
I got a PM form Gus@VinylEngine asking If I would like to test one just for $20 shipping - thaty was a few weeks ago as he is just about to finish machining the RP6 version.
When are you expecting delivery?
Keep us updated when you get so we can glean your opinion on it!
stevebrock said:Andy, it really will pay dividends if you look at upgrading your speakers - I used to own the BX2s they were ok I only got them because of the reviews and they are good for the dollar but the Brio R will have no problems driving a quality speaker.
